Outhouse Art Auction
Two of my pieces have been selected for the Outhouse Art Auction on 7th and 8th November, with proceeds supporting Outhouse and the work they do with the LGBTQ+ community.
I’m really happy to be showing work again, especially alongside some of my peers and artists whose work I genuinely really admire.
The auction is live now, and I have one piece in each day.
On Day One, I have Lot 51 — Palimpsest #52. Slightly annoyed it isn’t Lot 52 because that would have been very satisfying!
This is one of my favourite pieces from the Palimpsest collection. I made 52 etchings from a single copper plate, taking a print every time I made a new mark. So when you look through the series, it almost works like a stop-motion animation of the artwork being created.
But at the same time, every mark is also changing and destroying what was there before. The series came from thinking about memory — how we build it, lose it, alter it and carry traces of things even when the original has changed completely.
Then on Day Two, I have one of my more recent paintings, Summer Lights, an oil on canvas, 60 × 60 cm.
It’s actually one of the first pieces from a new collection that I’m still working on, so it feels a little different putting this one out into the world while the rest of the series is still unfinished. But I’m really excited about where the work is going, so I’m delighted that this piece is part of the auction.
There’s already a bid in, which is very exciting 👀 so if you fancy having a look, supporting my work and supporting Outhouse at the same time, the auction is live now.
Have a look, have a bid, send it to someone who might like the work, or just follow along on the 7th and 8th because it’s a live online art auction and I’m very excited to see what happens.
You can find the link in my bio, or head over to the Outhouse Art Auction.
And if you do have a look, let me know what you think of the two pieces. 🤍
